Job summary

Cellular Origins is seeking an exceptional engineering leader to take departmental leadership of the teams developing our core technology platform. Reporting to the COO, you will lead Software, Hardware, Robotics and Integration and work alongside senior leaders to deliver a scalable platform for cell therapy manufacturing.

This hands-on leadership role requires guiding a multidisciplinary team through critical decisions, aligning priorities, and removing barriers to achieve reliable delivery

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of a substantial multidisciplinary engineering department.
• Experience taking integrated automation, robotics, electromechanical systems through concept to deployment and support.
• Credibility across software, embedded systems, electronics, hardware, controls, robotics and integration; able to challenge experts and close cross-disciplinary decisions.
• Experience balancing architecture, modularity, reuse, technical debt and lifecycle needs with product and customer demands.
• Practical command of quality, safety, design assurance, verification and validation, configuration and change, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Ability to balance scope, cost, resources and schedule while managing technical risk and representing engineering to customers and suppliers.
• Excellent ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex choices clearly.

Responsibilities

• Translate company and product strategy into a platform-engineering strategy, roadmap, and resourcing plan.
• Lead and develop leaders for software, hardware, electronics and firmware, robotics and systems integration.
• Drive delivery with realistic plans, meaningful metrics, and early risk surfacing.
• Set and continually improve engineering standards across architecture, integration, verification and lifecycle support.
• Protect platform coherence while meeting immediate customer needs and enabling future scale.
• Collaborate with product, customer delivery and operations to sequence and resource platform work.
• Represent platform engineering in external technical conversations with customers, partners and suppliers.
• Build future capability through talent planning, skill development, and knowledge sharing.
