Job summary

Thales Group in Manchester is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Maritime Mission Systems to design, implement and test software solutions for critical naval applications. You will contribute to state-of-the-art sonar capabilities and work with cross-site teams on UK and international projects.

The role focuses on developing software components, following defined architectures, and supporting integration and verification activities within an agile team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of a solution development lifecycle for complex systems with several years’ SW development using an Agile methodology.
• Ability to derive and manage SW Requirements.
• Ability to design a SW solution that meets operational needs/requirements.
• Demonstrable skills in SW development (Java/Python in a Linux environment).
• Use of industry standard tooling for SW Development (IDEs, Unit Test frameworks, Static analysis, etc).

Responsibilities

• Develop software components (from detailed Design thru to Unit testing) to realise the vision of our Product Owners, following the SW architectures identified by our SW Architects.
• Support the SW Integration activities and resolve bugs identified during verification.
