Job summary

Thales Group in Crawley is seeking a Software Engineer for Maritime Mission Systems to design, implement and test sonar-related software, collaborating with Systems Engineering and cross-site teams.

The role requires a strong CS background, proficiency in programming (Java/C/C++), awareness of real-time constraints, and willingness to travel within the UK; security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Engineering.
• Strong programming experience in modern languages.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define solutions with Systems Engineering to develop requirements and test strategy.
• Develop software deliverables that meet customer requirements, on time and within budget.
• Support deployed software products across land and sea and ensure ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with software management to develop skills and ways of working.
