Wise is expanding its Latam & Mea Payments Team and is looking for ambitious Senior Software Engineers to join the engineering team.

You will lead integrations with local banks and payment providers, connect to regional payment systems, and optimize cross-border money movement within your area. This role emphasizes high-quality, scalable, and compliant solutions and collaboration with global teams to grow new markets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with a track record of delivering scalable systems.
• Deep backend development expertise and microservices architecture.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback during code and design reviews.
• Autonomous team player who works effectively with minimal supervision.
• Experience designing and building software systems and collaborating on technical designs.
• Nice to have: payments systems, FinTech, and leveraging LLMs to enhance development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and manage direct connections with local payment schemes and integrations with regional banks.
• Establish foundation-level money movement capabilities across diverse international markets.
• Define technical direction by advocating for high-quality designs and peer reviews.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to align on roadmap and platform integration.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support operations and ensure platform availability.
• Work with product managers, designers, and engineers across offices to align on vision and implementation.
