Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to shape the technical direction of its global payment network. You’ll own architecture for partner integrations, drive scalability, and ensure reliability across 700+ microservices.

You will mentor engineers, promote best practices in distributed systems, and collaborate with product, partnerships, and solutions teams to deliver high-impact financial platforms for banks and businesses worldwide.

Qualificações

• Extensive experience building backend systems using Java and Spring Boot in production.
• Strong experience designing and operating large-scale microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Proven experience building or operating event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience applying domain-driven design (DDD) to model complex business domains and design scalable systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design and development of scalable Java/Spring Boot services within Wise’s microservices architecture.
• Model complex domains using domain-driven design to support Wise’s partner ecosystem.
• Drive event-driven architectures using Kafka, ensuring reliability and observability.
• Architect and optimize PostgreSQL databases for critical financial workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Implementation, Solutions Engineering, and Business Development to support partner integrations and expand the Wise payment platform globally.
• Provide technical leadership, influence architecture decisions, and maintain engineering standards across services.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning, championing best practices in distributed systems.
