Job summary

Wise is seeking an Engineering Lead for the Send for Partners team to empower banks and enterprises to offer Wise-powered payments through their own channels. You will guide a hands-on engineering team, drive technical decisions and collaborate with product managers to deliver scalable systems powering Wise's global payment network.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
• Technical leadership and system design for scalable distributed systems.

• Experience with JVM platform (Java/Kotlin/Spring Boot).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach engineers, hire, mentor and develop performance.
• Translate product strategy into technical roadmaps that move KPIs.
• Guide architecture and design decisions for global scaling.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support bank integrations and expand the network.
• Drive excellence through code reviews and best practices.
• Be hands-on when needed by understanding team systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve the Send product balancing short-term delivery with long-term health.
• Share learnings across Wise Platform squad and influence company-wide software approaches.
