Job summary

Vanrath is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Belfast team. You will design, develop and deploy a modern fintech platform using TypeScript, React and cloud-native technologies, working closely with cloud partners and senior engineers.

You will own features end-to-end, contribute to architecture, and mentor junior engineers in an agile, collaborative environment. This role offers hybrid working and exposure to large-scale distributed systems.

Qualifications

• At least five years' commercial experience as a Full Stack/Frontend/Backend Software Engineer.
• Strong TypeScript development experience in a professional environment.
• Proficient in React, Redux and React Query, with HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using TypeScript or other OO languages.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets and microservices architecture.
• Commercial experience with AWS services (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway, AppSync).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Understanding of software design patterns and the full SDLC.
• Experience working in Agile, cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience with C#/.NET 8 would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of financial markets or trading systems would be beneficial.

About you
