Job summary

Factor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the platform powering real-time decisions for energy retailers and their customers. You will own backend features, scalable data pipelines, pricing engines and APIs within a senior team that values ownership and engineering excellence.

Expect to work with modern stacks (Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS, serverless) and contribute to architecture decisions while leveraging AI tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud architecture (AWS, serverless).
• Track record of designing and maintaining clean, maintainable systems that handle complex data and business logic.
• Experience in the energy sector (or other data-heavy, mission-critical industries).
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced problems and proposing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend features and services with focus on scalability and resilience.
• Design and evolve Factor’s core data and application architecture (Typescript, Rust, AWS).
• Solve complex end-to-end problems across the stack from data ingestion to APIs and integrations.
• Contribute to engineering standards, peer reviews and design discussions.
• Use AI and automation to accelerate development, testing and deployment.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and ownership.
