Job summary

Factor is seeking an engineer to build scalable data pipelines, pricing engines, and APIs that power real-time decisions for energy retailers. You will join a senior team focused on ownership, curiosity, and engineering excellence, with AI tools used daily to accelerate impact.

Responsibilities include shipping backend services, evolving architecture, and solving complex problems across the stack, from ingestion to APIs and partner integrations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL and modern cloud architecture (AWS, serverless).
• Track record of designing and maintaining clean, maintainable systems handling complex data and business logic.
• Experience in energy sector or data-heavy, mission-critical industries is valued.
• Able to work autonomously in a fast-moving startup with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend features with focus on scalability and resilience.
• Design and evolve Factor’s data and application architecture (Typescript, Rust, AWS).
• Solve end-to-end problems from data ingestion to APIs and integrations.
• Contribute to engineering standards, peer reviews and design discussions.
• Use AI and automation to accelerate development, testing and deployment.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
