Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the AI/ML and Data Platform. You will be a seasoned member of an agile team delivering trusted, secure scalable technology across multiple business areas.

You will design, develop and troubleshoot production code, support data engineering and ML teams, and drive automation and operational excellence. The role requires strong Python/Java development, experience with AWS Databricks, SRE concepts, and secure coding practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
• Extensive experience with AWS Databricks platform administration and engineering support is a MUST.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident management.
• Experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with evaluation, validation and secure coding.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.
• Proficient in Python and/or Java application development with automated unit testing.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency and security.
• Knowledge of Spark, Glue, MapReduce, and other Big Data frameworks.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains relevant algorithms.
• Platform design, setup and configuration; provides engineering support to data teams and ML.
• Collaborates to optimize infrastructure and deployment with focus on automation and operational excellence.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues for stability.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and speed; validates outputs via peer review and testing.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation value.
• W leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture and applicability.
• Contributes to engineering communities and fosters diversity and inclusion within the team.
