Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the AI/ML and Data Platform. You will work in an agile team to design and deliver secure, scalable technology products that support the firm’s objectives and business needs.

You will build production code, collaborate with data engineers and data scientists, and drive automation of deployment and operational processes while adhering to secure coding practices and thorough peer reviews.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Extensive experience with AWS Databricks platform administration.
• Strong understanding of SRE principles, SLIs, SLOs, and incident management.
• Experience with monitoring tools, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted software development tools with validation and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use and secure handling of data.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java with automated unit testing.
• Good grasp of Agile, Application Resiliency, and Security concepts.
• Knowledge of Spark, Glue, MapReduce, and related big data frameworks.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with non-routine approaches.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains robust algorithms.
• Configures platforms and provides engineering support to data science and data engineering teams.
• Collaborates to optimize infrastructure and deployment processes with a focus on automation.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve operational stability.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and testing.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to enhance automation value.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architectural fit.
• Contributes to engineering communities of practice and promotes diversity and inclusion.
