Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Software Engineer III to deliver production-grade AI/ML data platform capabilities. You will build secure, scalable systems, partner with AI researchers, and help move experiments into robust applications, while mentoring others and shaping team practices.

Responsibilities include developing infrastructure as code (Terraform), Python-based services, and CI/CD pipelines across cloud platforms, with emphasis on security, reliability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with applied full stack development experience.
• Practical experience developing infrastructure as code, ideally using Terraform.
• Hands-on experience building applications, testing, and supporting operational stability.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with automation, CI/CD, delivery and testing methods.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and Model Development Life Cycle.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and architectural frameworks.
• Demonstrated platform development experience in cloud/AI/ML.
• Experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Researchers to advance experiments into scalable, production-grade applications.
• Develop software applications for AI and ML platforms, including generative AI applications such as agents.
• Design and troubleshoot technical solutions to address complex engineering challenges.
• Identify and automate remediation for recurring issues to improve operational efficiency.
• Deliver solutions using CI/CD pipelines to public and private cloud platforms.
• Support experimentation environments, including Jupyter Notebooks.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering practices across the team.
