Job summary

Alliants, based in Southampton, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own system design for an AI-orchestrated delivery pipeline. The role focuses on architecture, guardrails, and end-to-end delivery, with a hybrid work setup and an anchor day in the Southampton office.

You will lead five engineers in the Engineering — Product team, owning trunk-based development, rapid releases, and production-grade safeguards for generated code.

Qualifications

• Five+ years building and operating production software at senior level
• Strong system design capability with trade-off reasoning
• Platform or DevOps-minded approach to CI/CD and delivery pipelines
• Hands-on experience directing AI coding agents on real production work
• Strong TypeScript, API and data experience (GraphQL and REST, Postgres, AWS) in a monorepo

Responsibilities

• Own large, ambiguous problems from framing through production.
• Set architectural direction for the platform and defend trade-offs.
• Build delivery pipeline turning intent into shippable code with AI agents.
• Write and maintain evals, tests and guardrails to prevent issues.
• Review generated code and ensure production-ready quality.
• Release to production on trunk daily and diagnose issues quickly.
• Remove friction from the delivery loop (CI, tests, context).
• Raise the bar by establishing patterns and tooling for the team.
• Translate technical decisions into plain language for stakeholders.
