Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Developer / Software Architect to steer the architectural direction of a global product portfolio while guiding new platform development.

In a small, highly experienced engineering team you’ll influence engineering standards, AI adoption, and the long‑term evolution of the network technology platform, with remote‑first work and periodic in‑person time at the Midlands HQ.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting and shipping production software at senior levels.
• Strong Linux/server, APIs, distributed systems expertise.
• Proficient in AI-assisted development and architectural documentation (C4, UML).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive software architecture across the full product range.
• Assess current architecture and define next-gen vision.
• Produce system diagrams, maps, API contracts, data models.
• Define and champion AI-assisted development approach.
• Lead architectural decisions and document them for all stakeholders.
• Translate complex architecture into roadmaps for engineers and partners.
• Contribute to product strategy, evaluating EdTech opportunities.
