Job summary

IG Group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to accelerate AI across Brokerage Services, focusing on AI-assisted coding, testing, and deployments within a Java backend ecosystem.

You will own features end-to-end, contribute to observability, and drive automation while collaborating with product and security to align with regulatory standards. This is a hands-on role in a hybrid setup with high-impact technical scope.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineer background with production systems experience.
• Strong Java or similar backend service expertise.
• Proven practice of test-driven development and pair programming.
• Ownership of features from design to deployment and production support.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal tooling that embeds AI into engineering workflows (coding assistants, AI-generated tests, deployments).
• Improve observability for the AI-assisted pipeline to show what is happening, what is caught, and what is missed.
• Identify manual steps in coding, testing and release and automate them.
• Break work into small, releasable pieces and ship continuously.
• Collaborate with product on domain-driven delivery.
• Lead AI adoption improvements as part of delivering value.
• Work with test and PM to integrate AI in testing pipelines and prioritise tests.
