Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II for Account Integrity to help build a globally scalable fraud prevention engine and protect customer money. You will work on end-to-end systems, focusing on robust controls and detection capabilities.

Role blends backend and frontend work (80% backend, 20% frontend) and requires Java/Spring, CI/CD, distributed and concurrent systems, plus a strong product mindset and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Professional experience with Java or other JVM-based languages, including the Spring framework.
• Proven experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, Distributed, and Concurrent Systems.
• Strong product mindset, accountability, and the ability to drive projects independently with customer focus.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including query optimisation and resilient schemas.
• Excellent code quality, problem-solving skills, and commitment to TDD and best practices.
• Excellent communication to articulate complex topics across Product, Data Science, Investigations.

Responsibilities

• Building and refining critical controls to protect Wise customers' accounts from takeovers.
• Drive Backend and Frontend for crime prevention and detection systems; 80% backend, 20% frontend.
• Deliver tangible impact by securing customers' money, increasing automation, and enabling product growth.
