Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our London-based team, delivering critical software in a cross-functional setup. You will design and build enterprise-grade applications, work across backend and frontend components, and contribute to architectural decisions in a mature agile environment.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, ensure robust testing and automation, and leverage cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) to drive secure,

Qualifications

• Experience in an Agile delivery team.

Role & Responsibilities

You'll be part of our experienced Software Engineering function, working in a cross-functional team, delivering and deploying critical software across a variety of business areas.

Requirements/knowledge (you don't need everything)

• Experience working in an Agile delivery team


• Java development with Spring Boot


• Front‑end development using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)


• Building enterprise‑grade web applications or backend services


• Cloud & DevOps


• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure


• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes


• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible or equivalent)


• Data & Integration


• Working with SQL and NoSQL data stores


• Familiarity with structured and unstructured data concepts


• Messaging / streaming systems (Kafka, AWS SQS, or other cloud-native queuing services)


• Experience with data visualisation tools or techniques


• Quality & Engineering Practices

• Use of code repositories (Git), including branching strategies, pull‑request workflows, and merge processes
