Job summary

Ocho is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build a greenfield platform in partnership with Amazon Web Services. You will own design, development, testing and deployment across the stack, collaborating with AWS engineers and senior leads to deliver production-ready software at global scale.

The role requires 5+ years in full stack development with TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Terraform. Hybrid working from Belfast, with a world-class financial markets infra focus.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of demonstrable industry experience as a Full Stack or Front End and Back End Engineer in TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering improvements while communicating the principles behind your work to the team and wider organisation
• Take full ownership of design, development, testing and deployment of software across the team
• Support the team's engagement in a well defined SDLC covering planning, prioritisation and delivery
• Lead conversations around estimation, challenge requirements and foster potential solutions
• Contribute to meaningful conversations about wider system architecture with engineers and leads
• Evolve systems towards target state architecture through refactoring and prioritisation of deliveries
• Work closely with Principal Engineers, Architects and Leads to ensure successful deployment into production
• Mentor junior members of the team and demonstrate strong technical competencies

This is a Senior Full Stack Engineer position within a newly formed team tasked with building the next generation of a flagship trading platform in partnership with Amazon Web Services. You will take full ownership of your work across design, development, testing and deployment, working closely with Principal Engineers, Architects and Leads to ensure successful delivery into production environments. Key Responsibilities:

What you will need:

• 5 or more years of demonstrable industry experience as a Full Stack or Front End and Back End Engineer in TypeScript

Frontend:

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and TypeScript
• Strong experience with React, Redux and React Query
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets
• Experience with CSS tooling such as Tailwind
• Working knowledge of Git
• Proficiency in backend TypeScript and/or another OOP language such as C# or Java
• Strong database knowledge across SQL and NoSQL
• Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs and WebSockets
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code
• Exposure to automated testing
• AWS experience including Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway and AppSync

Salary up to £60,000. Hybrid working from Belfast.
