About This Role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will define, design, and refine the technology that keeps us ahead of our listeners' expectations. You will innovate, challenge ideas, and be supported with cutting-edge tech, tools, and systems. You will lead your team, overcoming obstacles and developing effective solutions to build and maintain our platform, delivering thousands of stories to millions of listeners.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain software components and applications for a global audiobook provider
  • Identify and resolve software defects via code reviews, log analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting
  • Write maintainable, scalable code within an agile team
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, test, and launch customer-centric software
  • Apply computer science principles to solve moderate-scale problems
  • Enhance testability, operational excellence, and documentation for your software
  • Handle data classification, storage, and management per company policies
  • Participate in interviews and mentor fellow engineers

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of software development and deployment experience with distributed multi-tier applications
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#), with object-oriented design skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing internal tooling, automation, web applications, APIs
  • Experience with scalable software services (e.g., SOA, Microservices)
  • Experience delivering software systems to internal/external customers
  • Knowledge of SDLC best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing, operations
  • Ability to translate design into high-quality, timely code
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving
