Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Principal Consultant (Software Development) to design, build and maintain high‑performance software systems across the full lifecycle. You will lead technical decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions using C++, C#, and Python.

You will contribute to architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and testing strategies while championing engineering best practices and delivering quality software for complex mobility projects.

Qualifications

• Proficient in modern C++ (C++14/17/20) with memory management and performance optimisation.
• Strong experience with .NET ecosystem (C#) including .NET Core / .NET 6+ and OOP patterns.
• Proficient in Python for scripting, data processing, or back-end services.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and profiling complex systems.
• Familiar with Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and code reviews.
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Paramics Discovery using C++, C#, and Python across the full software lifecycle.
• Write clean, well-documented code with focus on testability and performance.
• Participate in architectural discussions and trade-off analysis.
• Review code and provide constructive feedback to raise quality.
• Collaborate with DevOps to optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
• Interact with SQL databases, writing and optimising queries.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
• Contribute to test strategies including unit, integration, and performance testing.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and embody the company values.
