Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to lead practice within the Adult Early Help Service. You will guide the team, supervise staff, and ensure preventative support aligns with safeguarding standards to promote independence and wellbeing.

This permanent role offers 37 hours a week and opportunities to shape service development. You must be a qualified social worker with current registration and post-qualifying experience, with knowledge of the Care Act and MCA.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England Registration.
• Post-qualifying experience within Social Care.
• Good working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary working to achieve best outcomes.
• Strong communication skills, able to work on own initiative.
• Experience in supporting development of others; line management desirable.
• Ability to lead with confidence and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, guidance and oversight to colleagues.
• Ensure timely, proportionate and preventative support promoting independence.
• Act as a source of expertise on legislation, safeguarding and positive risk-taking.
• Support reflective supervision, case discussions and practice development.
• Lead line management, staff development, performance and wellbeing.
• Contribute to induction and development of new team members.
• Participate in quality assurance activities: case audits and reviews.
• Collaborate with partners to promote prevention and wellbeing.
