Job summary

STRABAG is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead site operations across the UK for major industrial and logistics projects. You will drive safety, quality and efficiency, coordinating with Project Managers and clients to deliver complex works to schedule.

Travel between sites is required; head office is based in Shirley, Solihull. The role demands strong leadership, commercial awareness and a proven track record in large construction projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in large construction / civil engineering projects.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top Level Management, Senior level clients and public.
• An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking construction projects.
• HNC or Degree in Building Studies or Civil Engineering.
• Knowledge of Company policy and procedures including safety and environment related issues.
• Successful experience as a section / trade foreman.
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the set up and day to day running of a Construction site.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-based leadership for construction and installation operations; promote safety and manage resources with the Project Manager.
• Lead and promote high standards of HSEQ; ensure policies and procedures are in place and followed.
• Ensure work quality meets specs (ERs/BS) and manage defects and PC snag resolution.
• Instruct all new employees on STRABAG safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Maintain and update Health & Safety and other management plans; foster behavioural safety culture.
• Understand roles in relation to CDM Regulations and communicate with clients and staff.
• Organise and chair daily/weekly meetings; track progress and update look-ahead plans.
• Collaborate with Sub-Contractors; manage RAMS and ITPs and ensure safe start
• Monitor resource inputs, including plant and labour, and manage cost recovery discussions.
