Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead major industrial and logistics projects across the UK, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery. The role requires coordinating on-site resources, managing compliance with standards and company policies, and communicating with top management and clients.

You will travel between sites across the UK with the head office based in Shirley, Solihull, providing leadership to site teams and promoting a proactive, professional safety culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in large construction / civil engineering projects.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top Level Management, Senior level clients and public.
• An understanding of the commercial issues in undertaking construction projects.
• Knowledge of Company policy and procedures including safety and environment related issues.
• Successful experience as a section / trade foreman.
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the set up and day to day running of a Construction site.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-based leadership for all or section of construction and installation operations; promote Health & Safety management and safe construction practices.
• Lead and promote high standards of HSEQ on the project; ensure policies are in place per CPS and statutory requirements.
• Ensure quality per ERs / British Standards; monitor defects and close out PC snags within specified times.
• Instruct all new employees, including sub-contractors, on STRABAG safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Maintain and update Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans and Management Plans; promote behavioural safety culture.
• Lead and empower the STRABAG Project Team and Sub-Contractors in safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with Project Commercial Lead on sub-contracts, prelims, and cost control; feed into management reporting.
