Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Site Manager for a project in the North West, based in the North West region. You will support the management, control and completion of complex construction works, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while coordinating subcontractors and resources.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will demonstrate leadership in safety, quality and environmental practices, with experience across construction disciplines and a proactive, collaborative approach to

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high-quality projects.
• Broad construction based technical experience.
• Health & safety qualification (SMSTS) or equivalent.
• Confident with IT packages and systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction processes with knowledge of M&E on site.
• Ensure quality records meet specification requirements.
• Adhere to Health & Safety Management Plan and BAM procedures.
• Work to programme deadlines and manage schedules.
• Set up handover schedules, keys, spares and completion docs.
• Implement BAM environmental procedures on site.
• Maintain site diaries and record subcontractor attendance.
• Oversee direct and sub-contractor packages and records.
• Input on buildability issues as required.

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to join the Northern construction business, based on a project within the North West region. As a Site Manager you will have a proven track record of supporting the managing, controlling and supporting the engineering, construction and completion of projects on time and on budget and covering projects in the North West Region.

Making Possible

Reporting to the Project Manager and becoming an integral member of the construction team you would be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the construction management role, management of subcontractors and have a proven track record of exceeding targets and achieving high scores in health and safety, environmental management and Considerate Constructor Scheme.

• Management of complex Construction process including knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical installations
• Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are produced in accordance with the specification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Management Plan and BAM Operating Procedures including the Construction Phase Management Plan
• Able to work to programme and associated deadlines
• Set up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares and completion documentation.
• Ensuring BAM construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
• Keep site diaries including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
• Manage direct and sub-contractor packages and the keeping of associated records
• Input on buildability issues as required.

What do you bring to the role?

• Experience in delivering high quality projects
• Broad construction based technical experience.
• Experience working on various types of Construction projects. School construction experience would be beneficial although not essential.
• A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do, ideally SMSTS.
• Confident in the use of IT packages and systems.
• Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
• Good communication skills
• HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent or a trade’s background.
• Full driving licence.
