Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to join the Northern construction business, based on a project within the North West region. As a Site Manager you will have a proven track record of supporting the managing, controlling and supporting the engineering, construction and completion of projects on time and on budget and covering projects in the North West Region.

Reporting to the Project Manager and becoming an integral member of the construction team you would be expected to

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality construction projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating engineering, construction and completion.
• Strong health and safety, environmental management and CCS performance.
• Ability to work to programme and deadlines.
• HNC/Degree and MCIOB or equivalent preferred; driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex construction processes including M&E installations.
• Ensure quality records are produced and monitored to specification.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety management and BAM procedures.
• Work to programme and deadlines; monitor progress against milestones.
• Set up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares and completion docs.
• Ensure environmental procedures are implemented on site.
• Keep site diaries and manage subcontractor attendance and progress.
• Manage direct and sub-contractor packages and related records.
• Input on buildability issues as required.

Job description

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to join the Northern construction business, based on a project within the North West region. As a Site Manager you will have a proven track record of supporting the managing, controlling and supporting the engineering, construction and completion of projects on time and on budget and covering projects in the North West Region.

Making Possible

Reporting to the Project Manager and becoming an integral member of the construction team you would be expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the construction management role, management of subcontractors and have a proven track record of exceeding targets and achieving high scores in health and safety, environmental management and Considerate Constructor Scheme.

• Management of complex Construction process including knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical installations
• Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are produced in accordance with the specification requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Management Plan and BAM Operating Procedures including the Construction Phase Management Plan
• Able to work to programme and associated deadlines
• Set up and monitor handover schedules, keys, spares and completion documentation.
• Ensuring BAM construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
• Keep site diaries including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
• Manage direct and sub-contractor packages and the keeping of associated records
• Input on buildability issues as required.

What do you bring to the role?

• Experience in delivering high quality projects
• Broad construction based technical experience.
• Experience working on various types of Construction projects. School construction experience would be beneficial although not essential.
• A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do, ideally SMSTS.
• Confident in the use of IT packages and systems.
• Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously
• HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent or a trade’s background.
• Full driving licence.
