Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the close-out of outstanding snags and defects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and the wider supply chain to resolve defects promptly.
• Maintain and update spreadsheets/records detailing completed and outstanding defects.
• Coordinate labour, materials and access with the supply chain.
• Monitor progress ensuring works are completed safely to standard.
• Provide regular progress updates to the project team.
• Assist with coordinating planned night works during October.
• Ensure works meet health & safety requirements and project procedures.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join a project in Llanelli for an initial period of approximately 6-8 weeks.

The role will focus on helping to close out outstanding snagging and defects on a college project, while coordinating with the supply chain to ensure outstanding works are completed efficiently and to the required standard.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a sensible, organised and proactive Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of outstanding works, coordinating subcontractors and keeping accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the close-out of outstanding snags and defects.
• Work closely with subcontractors and the wider supply chain to ensure defects are resolved promptly.
• Maintain and regularly update spreadsheets and records detailing completed and outstanding defects.
• Coordinate labour, materials and access requirements with the supply chain.
• Monitor progress and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
• Liaise with the project team and provide regular updates on progress.
• Assist with coordinating and closing out planned night works, which are anticipated to take place during October.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant health & safety requirements and project procedures.

About You

• Proven experience working as a Senior Site Manager / Site Manager on construction projects.
• Strong experience in snagging, defects and project close‑out.
• Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
• The ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to confidently update spreadsheets and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively manage subcontractors and the supply chain.
• A practical, sensible and proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Relevant site management qualifications, including SMSTS and CSCS.
• A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking for a short‑term freelance assignment on an established project in Llanelli for a Tier 1 contractor.

The initial requirement is for approximately 6-8 weeks, primarily working days for the first three weeks, with potential night work during October subject to programme and agreement.
