Job summary

Galliford Try Group is seeking a General Foreman to lead on-site operations for a water treatment project in Egham. You will drive safety, plan activities, and manage labour, plant and materials to meet programme targets.

Strong civils/water background and proven leadership are essential. You will oversee daily site activities, coordinate across disciplines and maintain accurate records while promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration on the Newton AMP8 framework.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams on construction sites.
• Experience in heavy civils and/or water environments.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Proactive and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe, healthy and inclusive on-site environment.
• Supervise site team and supply chain on a day-to-day basis.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor progress of allocations.
• Manage labour, plant and materials to meet programme and cost targets.
• Lead daily site activities and ensure clear communication across teams.
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits to work and site inductions.
• Report changes to scope, programme, design or commercial impacts.
• Highlight and resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain detailed daily site records and monitor workload.
• Provide regular progress updates to the Site Manager.
