Job summary

Galliford Try Group seeks a General Foreperson to lead site operations for the Affinity Water project at Iver Water Treatment Works. You will oversee safety, quality and programme delivery, coordinating labour, plant and materials to keep work on track.

You will manage multiple packages, interface with design teams and stakeholders, and drive improvements in processes and methods while maintaining daily diaries and RAMS compliance.

Qualifications

• Health and safety focus essential for site leadership.
• Experience in heavy civils or water industry environments.
• Ability to manage multiple work packages and interface with disciplines.
• Strong reading of drawings, specs, programmes and technical info.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proven leadership of teams on construction sites.
• Excellent communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborative approach aligned with company values.

Responsibilities

• Promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy and inclusive site environment.
• Supervising and supporting the site team and supply chain on a day-to-day basis.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring progress of allocated sections of work.
• Managing labour, plant and materials to meet programme and cost targets.
• Leading daily site activities and ensuring effective communication across teams.
• Ensuring all works are delivered in line with design and quality requirements.
• Identifying and reporting changes to scope, programme, design or commercial impacts.
• Raising and supporting the resolution of technical challenges as they arise.
• Carrying out regular health and safety inspections and promoting best practice.
• Ensuring RAMS, permits to work, inductions and safety briefings are correctly implemented.
• Maintaining accurate site records, including detailed daily diaries.
• Monitoring capability and workload of operatives and contractors, escalating concerns where needed.
• Supporting introduction of new processes, techniques and innovations on site.
• Providing regular progress updates to the Site Manager.
