Job summary

McAleer & Rushe is seeking a Site Engineer to support the Site Manager on projects in London and Edinburgh. You will set out, level, survey, and supervise QA checks, coordinating with structural engineers, architects and MEP specialists to ensure drawings are followed.

You will drive safety, manage daily field operations, and report progress to the Senior Site Manager and Project Manager, contributing to on‑time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree / HND in engineering or related discipline.
• Current CSR / CSCS Card.
• Minimum 6 years postgraduate experience.
• Experience setting out £10m+ structures.
• Experience calling off reinforcement and reading reinforcement drawings.
• Operational knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and planning skills.
• IT literate with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Willingness to work across the UK & Ireland.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager with daily operations on site.
• Act as technical adviser on site for specialist subcontractors.
• Set out, level, and survey the site; QA, temporary works checks, coordination.
• Check plans, drawings and setting out coordination.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, and quantity surveyors.
• Manage day-to-day site operations including supervising the site team and subcontractors.
• Plan work and organise plant and site facilities to meet deadlines.
• Oversee health & safety compliance and Think Smart management on site.
• Prepare reports for senior site manager and project manager.
• Handle any other duties as required by management.
