Viridor Limited in Exeter is seeking a Shift Team Leader to lead a 24-hour ERF shift team. The role involves ensuring safe, compliant plant operation, overseeing SAP and Safe System of Work, and driving performance in waste throughput and energy generation.

The ideal candidate has SAP status or the ability to obtain it, with extensive experience in process industries, and strong leadership and communication skills. Competitive salary and benefits apply.

Formación

• Experience working within a process plant, power generation, energy-from-waste, utilities or similar industrial environment.
• Experience operating within Safe Systems of Work, including issuing Permits to Work and associated safety documentation.
• Experience leading or supervising operational teams in a shift environment.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within a process-based industry.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational and planning capabilities.
• Ability to lead team briefings, conduct thorough shift handovers and produce concise reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good IT literacy and experience using operational management systems.
• Experience coordinating and supervising contractors and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of environmental permitting and IPPC regulations.
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Understanding of Energy Recovery Facilities, waste-to-energy operations or power generation processes.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise the shift team to ensure safe, efficient operation of the ERF plant.
• Oversee Safe System of Work and Permit to Work processes.
• Drive plant performance, waste throughput and energy generation.
• Organise shift cover and on-call rota to maintain resilience.
• Conduct detailed handovers and maintain clear communication across teams.
