Job summary

Viridor Limited is recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to supervise the day-to-day operation of the Tilbury ERF plant, driving throughput, reducing HSE impacts and promoting a strong safety culture.

You will work with management and engineering teams to implement systems that optimise performance while ensuring strict health, safety and environmental standards. This is a full-time role with a focus on leadership during construction and transition to full operation.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising operations in an industrial environment.
• Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC) or equivalent.
• Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH) preferred.
• Experience with Safe Systems of Work and permits.
• Ability to lead teams and communicate with stakeholders.
• Experience with power generation or energy recovery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shift Team and supervise day-to-day plant operations.
• Drive continuous improvement and safety compliance.
• Coordinate routine emergency, safety and environmental drills.
• Plan, implement and monitor systems to maximise plant performance.
• Induct visitors and contractors and manage site inductions.
