Job summary

Randstad CPE in Exeter, UK, is seeking a Shift Team Leader to run the Energy Recovery Facility on a rotating 24/7 shift. You will lead a shift of technicians, ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and maximise plant availability and energy output.

Qualifications

• Proven operational experience in process plant, power generation, or energy-from-waste.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Hands-on SSOW, permits to work, and safety documentation control.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage shift teams.
• Experience with maintenance management software (CMMS).
• Excellent written and verbal reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the shift team to maximise plant availability.
• Oversee waste throughput and energy output while complying with procedures.
• Act as SAP managing SSOW, permits, risk assessments, and safety docs.
• Monitor environmental permitting compliance (EPR).
• Ensure planned maintenance via CMMS and address defects.
• Coordinate emergencies as Incident Controller and conduct drills.
