Job summary

OCU is seeking a Senior SHEQ Advisor to lead safety, health, environmental and quality performance across live power projects in the UK. You will partner with operational teams, drive compliance with UK legislation, and mentor site teams to embed a proactive safety culture.

Based in or around London, you will inspect sites, investigate incidents, and deliver continuous improvements across DNO/IDNO frameworks while supporting rapid project delivery and high-value infrastructure work.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior SHEQ Advisor in utilities, construction or civil engineering.
Experience on power and electrical infrastructure projects.
In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance.
Experience supporting incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Act as a trusted SHEQ partner to operational teams across power and electrical projects.
Provide practical guidance to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
Carry out site inspections, audits and investigations to ensure compliance.
Produce detailed reports and root cause analyses to drive improvements.
Provide coaching and mentoring to teams to build capability.
Work across live environments including DNO and IDNO frameworks.
