Job summary

Sustainable Talent is seeking a SHEQ Manager to drive safety, environmental and quality performance across major utilities projects in the UK.

Reporting to senior operational leadership, you will lead audits, risk management and continual improvement while mentoring SHEQ personnel and collaborating with clients and supply chain partners.

The role requires chartered IOSH status, NEBOSH Diploma and a track record in utilities/infrastructure projects, with strong leadership and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Chartered IOSH status (CMIOSH) or working towards Chartered Membership.
• NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Proven SHEQ leadership across multiple projects.
• Strong people management and stakeholder communication.
• Experience in utilities, water, power, gas, infrastructure or heavy civil projects.
• Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SHEQ performance across a major utilities framework.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to operational teams, supervisors and SHEQ Advisors.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives across Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance.
• Conduct audits, inspections, investigations and assurance activities.
• Monitor compliance with company procedures, client requirements and industry standards.
• Produce SHEQ reports, KPI data and performance updates for senior management.
• Support project planning, risk management and operational decision-making.
• Promote and develop a positive SHEQ culture throughout the business.
• Coach, mentor and develop SHEQ personnel across the contract.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
