Job summary

The National Trust for Scotland in Edinburgh seeks a Lead SharePoint Developer to design and govern the organisation's SharePoint environment, aligning with information governance policies and retention practices.

You will deliver training, create user guides, migrate files, and collaborate with IG and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure, well-structured sites that support collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing SharePoint environments.
• Knowledge of data governance, retention schedules and data protection.
• Ability to train staff and produce user guides.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning of file migration from network drives to SharePoint with records management focus.
• Analyse reports on storage, duplications, data quality and access.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and design SharePoint solutions.
• Implement data governance controls aligned with data protection standards.
• Review and restructure existing SharePoint sites and Teams channels.
• Develop retention policies and labels using Microsoft Purview with Data Protection.
• Train staff and develop user guides; deliver workshops.
• Prepare content migration and suggest structural improvements for compliance.
• Work with IG Programme and Infrastructure to ensure security policies.
• Stay current with new SharePoint features and recommend updates.
