Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Service Engineer - Security to provide on-site technical security engineering support at client locations in the UK. The role covers installation, maintenance and commissioning of CCure 9000, CCTV systems, and intruder equipment, with emphasis on reliability and service levels.

You will work with high-end surveillance and access control technologies, manage PPMs, produce clear reports, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Must have detailed technical experience with installing, maintaining and commissioning CCure 9000 (L3).
  • Experience installing CCTV systems and servers, Avigilon preferred.
  • Experience with Honeywell Galaxy intruder equipment.
  • Knowledge of turnstiles, access control, perimeter detection is beneficial.
  • Experience with planned preventative maintenance and project works on technical security systems.
  • Good knowledge of network infrastructure, servers and patching.
  • Able to work a shift pattern (07:00–15:00 or 08:00–16:00).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Security Engineering support on client sites.
  • Diagnose faults against SLAs.
  • Undertake PPM and provide evidence within timescales.
  • Coordinate with vendors for additional Technical Support.
  • Order and arrange timely delivery of critical spares.
  • Produce high-quality reports and maintain site archives.
  • Collate information for monthly/weekly meetings and reports.
  • Maintain and update PPM schedules; support risk assessments and method statements where needed.
  • Assist with BAU quotations and supervise third-party contractors.
  • Be available for out-of-hours and weekend work; on-call 1 week in 4.

What you will do
  • Provide Technical Security Engineering support on client site.
  • Be able to diagnose technical security equipment faults against the contractual SLA’s
  • Undertake PPM and provide evidence against agreed timescales.
  • Request assistance as required for additional vendor Technical Support.
  • Order and arrange timely delivery of critical spares relating to service calls.
  • The ability to produce a high standard of report writing and documentation
  • Maintain central archive of site documentation and asset register information.
  • Collate management information for monthly and weekly meetings and reports.
  • Maintain and update records for PPM Schedules.
  • Request the issue of Risk Assessments and Method Statements from the internal team H & S Manager and or Account Manager.
  • Provide assistance and Information as required for BAU quotations.
  • Oversee and supervise third party contractors providing services on the client sites
  • Availability for some out of hours & weekend working as and when required.
  • Be available to be on-call 1 week in every 4 weeks
  • To participate in Client and team meetings on a regular basis
  • Have good organisational skills, good time management skills and have the ability to work unsupervised when required.
  • Work alongside other engineers based at the client sites.
  • To carry out duties in accordance with the company and client’s health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to company and client Equality and Environmental policies.
How you will do it
  • Provide excellent Customer Service to exceed the expectations and requirements of the customer whilst, establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
  • To Service the appropriate devices, working safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, and the loss of unused materials.
  • Ensuring your time is managed efficiently and jobs are prioritised correctly.
  • Correctly complete Engineer work reports, handover certificates/BSIA Certificates or checklist as appropriate.
What we look for
  • Must have detailed technical experience with installing, maintaining and commissioning C‑Cure 9000 and be trained to level 3.
  • Must have experience installing, maintaining and commissioning CCTV systems and servers, preferably Avigilon.
  • Must have experience with installing, maintaining and commissioning Honeywell Galaxy intruder equipment.
  • A working knowledge of industry standard security equipment and systems including turnstiles, speed lanes, intercom systems, perimeter detection and radio systems.
  • Have experience with undertaking planned preventative maintenance and project works on technical security systems.
  • Have a good working knowledge of network infrastructure, servers, IT systems and patching.
  • Be available to work a shift pattern, which will include either 07.00 – 15.00 or 08.00 – 16.00
