Job Description

We seek an adaptable Service Designer to work effectively within multidisciplinary, agile teams on GDS projects for public sector clients. The role involves engaging with users and stakeholders to design products and services, considering both end-to-end journeys and individual elements. Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to understand user needs, adhere to design standards, and communicate your design decisions clearly.

Note: Eligibility for Security Clearance is required, typically necessitating five years of continuous UK address history, with no 30+ day absences outside the UK.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of design thinking and evidence-based design approaches.
• Experience in conducting basic user research and collaborating with user researchers.
• Ability to create and iterate prototypes, evaluate concepts, and explain designs to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of accessible/inclusive design principles and standards.
• Understanding of design standards relevant to the sector and UK public sector standards, including GDS processes.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams, aligning with user-centered design practices.
