Job summary

Capgemini UK is seeking a Lead designer to drive delivery leadership across complex service design engagements. You will own end-to-end projects, shape service strategies, and guide multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior designers.

You will work with senior stakeholders, define future states, and align design outcomes with business goals in hybrid delivery environments across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience leading service design through full lifecycle including piloting and live operation, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.
• Evidence of building design capability through mentoring designers, establishing standards, or shaping assessment frameworks.
• Fluency in service design methods: blueprinting, journey mapping, systems mapping, and proposition development.
• Comfort operating in the gap between design and delivery, in agile or hybrid environments.
• Experience across multiple sectors and governance contexts, with ability to adapt to different delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex service and product design engagements end to end and define service strategies and future state architectures.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to prototype, test, and launch new services and run research and insight programmes.
• Facilitate design sprints, experiments, and co-creation activities and create detailed service blueprints, journeys, and propositions.
• Understand organisational, technical, and policy constraints and turn them into opportunity.
• Guide clients through complex decisions and influence long-term change.
• Mentor and develop service designers across grades, supporting performance management and career progression.
