Job summary

John Ruskin College in Croydon and East Surrey College in Redhill are seeking a Transition Practice Lead to develop and oversee a high-quality transition offer for learners with EHCPs, SEND and other learning barriers. Reporting to the Head of Inclusion, you will lead transition planning, EHCP consultation processes and a team of Transition Officers, ensuring learners receive the right support from day one.

Interviews are from 20th August onwards. Salary: £36,000.87.

Qualifications

Qualification in SEND or related area, or willing to work towards one.
Knowledge of SEND transition and EHCP processes.
Experience in line management.
Understanding of SEND Code of Practice in FE.
Experience with young people in education/support.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).

Responsibilities

Lead transition, assessment and admissions processes for learners with SEND.
Coordinate and quality assure EHCP consultations and statutory processes.
Develop effective support plans and transition arrangements.
Line manage and support Transition Officers.
Build strong partnerships with Local Authorities, schools, SENCOs, parents and carers.
Monitor provision, learner needs and High Needs funding requirements.
Drive high-quality, inclusive practice across the college
