Job summary

St Saviour's C of E Primary School in Birmingham is seeking an outstanding SENCO to lead SEND provision across the school. You will support staff, parents and external agencies to ensure inclusive practice and strong outcomes for pupils.

The post requires Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience with a range of SEND. You will be part of the school leadership team, with opportunities for professional development and progression.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has substantial teaching experience and SEND experience.
• Understands the SEND Code of Practice.
• Has experience leading and developing provision across a school.
• Can provide professional support and guidance to colleagues, parents and external agencies.
• Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for all pupils.
• Has excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Holds the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs or is willing to complete it within three years of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of SEND provision throughout the school.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy.
• Coordinate support for pupils with SEND and monitor its impact.
• Work closely with families, staff, governors and external agencies.
• Be a key member of the school's leadership team.
• Lead and develop staff to ensure high-quality provision for all learners.
• Support safeguarding and inclusion for pupils with additional needs.
