Job summary

Teacher Active is seeking an SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Worksop and surrounding areas. The role involves 1:1 support, small groups, and classroom assistance for learners with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and communication needs.

A key part of the job is building trusting relationships, helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with education, while maintaining strong safeguarding practices and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
• Experience within a school, SEN provision, alternative provision or similar setting.
• Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support, working with small groups or in the classroom.
• Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD and communication needs.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and engage positively with education.
