Job summary

Teacher Active is seeking passionate SEN / SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Nottingham and surrounding areas. Roles range from day-to-day flexible supply to short-term and longer placements, offering variety and continuity.

You could provide 1:1 support or small-group assistance, working with pupils with SEN/SEMH needs such as SEMH, ASD and ADHD. A calm, patient, and resilient approach, plus strong behaviour management, are essential to help pupils regulate emotions and engage

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs
• Experience within a school, SEN provision, alternative provision or similar setting
• Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
• An understanding of safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being
• Flexibility and reliability when working across different settings

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support, working with small groups or supporting pupils within the classroom.
• You may work with pupils with needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour.
• Building trusting relationships with pupils, helping them regulate their emotions and engage with education.
