Qualifications
- PhD in Functional Genomics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related field with significant experience.
- Typically 5+ years applying functional genomics in pharma/biotech/academic settings.
- Deep expertise in CRISPR-based functional genomics and screening technologies.
- Proven experience designing and interpreting functional genomics in physiologically relevant cells.
- Experience leading medium-to-high-throughput screening campaigns and translating results into biology insights.
- Experience developing automation-compatible assay workflows and scalable screening.
- Strong knowledge of experimental design, statistics and data analysis of large datasets.
- Track record of scientific innovation through publications, platforms or project contributions.
- Experience leading initiatives and mentoring scientists in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with laboratory automation and advanced screening technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and application of functional genomics strategies to identify, validate and mature targets.
- Provide scientific leadership in automation-ready assay workflows with Automation Scientists.
- Design and lead medium-throughput screening campaigns with robust experimental design.
- Drive adoption of functional genomics and automation to scale data generation.
- Integrate diverse datasets to generate actionable insights for project decisions.
- Act as scientific lead within multidisciplinary teams influencing strategy.
- Mentor junior scientists and foster collaborative capabilities.
- Communicate findings to senior stakeholders via presentations and reviews.
- Champion data integrity and FAIR data principles.
