Zusammenfassung

The Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford is seeking a Scientist / Senior Scientist with expertise in single‑cell mass spectrometry, focusing on proteomics and/or metabolomics, to establish cutting‑edge LC‑MS workflows.

You will work across GBI and other technology hubs, develop robust experimental workflows, train researchers, and help translate MS innovations into high‑impact research capability for the Institute, with a collaborative, on‑site environment.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or equivalent in analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, proteomics, or related field.
• Demonstrated MS-based proteomics/metabolomics experience including LC-MS prep and data analysis.
• Experience with low-input or single-cell workflows and high-sensitivity MS.
• Knowledge of bottom-up/top-down workflows and data interpretation.
• Experience with MS data analysis software such as Spectronaut, DIA-NN, MaxQuant, etc.
• Strong collaboration and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement and optimise LC-MS workflows for low-input and single-cell proteomics/metabolomics.
• Support researchers in experimental design, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation.
• Develop SOPs, training materials and user guidelines for MS workflows.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics and AI/ML teams to interpret complex datasets.
• Assist manuscript preparation and internal/external communications.
• Represent the Institute at meetings and conferences when appropriate.
