Job summary

Evotec, based at Alderley Park, is seeking a Senior Scientist (Expression) to join the Protein Sciences Team. The role focuses on designing and executing work plans for early drug discovery, delivering high-quality recombinant proteins, and leading expression campaigns in insect cell systems.

The successful candidate will work independently on routine activities, contribute to project goals, and present data to internal and external customers. A PhD or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD or degree with relevant industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of recombinant protein expression and biochemistry.
• Hands-on experience with insect cell systems (BEVS, Drosophila S2).
• Ability to design and optimize expression constructs for recombinant proteins.
• Experience analyzing results and providing technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute work plans for early drug discovery projects.
• Provide oversight of results to ensure quality and alignment with project specs.
• Lead data analysis and present findings to internal/external customers.
• Propose experimental designs and novel approaches to improve expression outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop plans for personal growth and project delivery.
