Job summary

Evotec SE is recruiting an experienced Senior Scientist (Expression) in Alderley Park. The role focuses on designing and executing work plans for early drug discovery, delivering high-quality recombinant protein production using BEVS/insect cells, and overseeing data-driven decisions to advance projects.

The position offers a permanent, full-time role with 40 hours weekly, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package and onsite facilities at Alderley Park.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of recombinant protein expression and biochemistry.
• Hands-on experience with insect cell expression systems (BEVS, Drosophila S2).
• Design, clone and optimise expression constructs for recombinant proteins in insect cells.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute agreed work plans for early drug discovery projects.
• Support multiple projects and direct internal resources to meet goals.
• Provide oversight of results to ensure quality to project specs.
• Design experiments and review documentation and client presentations; conduct thorough data analysis before product release.
• Propose experimental designs and novel approaches to advance strategies and deliverables.
• Implement standalone scientific services and deliverables to customers.
• Lead reports and mentor colleagues for personal growth aligned to business needs.
• Represent the company at scientific and/or business conferences.
• Publish and present peer-reviewed science to boost Evotec’s reputation.
