Job summary

Cyprotex, part of the Evotec Group, is seeking a Senior Scientist to drive toxicology capability development at Alderley Park. You will deliver hands-on in vitro assays, lead scientific development, and mentor colleagues while delivering client projects on time and to high quality.

You will contribute to assay improvement, validate new workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our capability and client value in drug discovery.

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc, PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences or related field.
• Significant CRO/pharma/biotech or research experience.
• Strong cell culture and in vitro toxicology assay experience.
• Expertise in assay troubleshooting, optimization and problem-solving.
• Experience supporting assay development or research projects.
• Strong experimental design and data analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration.
• Passion for scientific innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Run high- and low-throughput in vitro toxicology assays for projects.
• Perform routine cell culture with various models and assay systems.
• Generate, analyze, and interpret high-quality data for client studies.
• Support delivery of client projects to agreed timelines and standards.
• Act as technical lead for designated assays, technologies or platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex scientific challenges and optimize workflows.
