Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a Senior Chef for maternity cover at Elstree School. You will support daily kitchen operations, contribute to menu planning, and ensure allergen controls while delivering high standards for daily meals and events.

Experience in baking or pastry is a bonus; a commitment to fresh, seasonal food and high-quality presentation is essential. This role requires Right to Work in the UK and offers training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a contract catering environment, preferably in independent education or high-profile setting.
• Passionate about fresh, seasonal food and creative presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and high food safety standards.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service.
• Ensure food safety and allergen controls are consistently met.
• Contribute to innovative menu planning.
• Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service.
• Support events and functions alongside school life.
