Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a committed Senior Chef to join the Elstree School kitchen team on maternity cover. You’ll support daily operations, help deliver high-quality meals, and contribute to menu planning with a focus on fresh, seasonal food.

You will lead in collaboration with the Head Chef, ensure food safety and allergen controls, and support events and school life while maintaining the high standards Holroyd Howe is known for in contract catering to independent schools.

Qualifications

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience or interest in bakery/pastry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service.
• Ensure food safety and allergen controls are consistently met.
• Contribute to innovative menu planning.
• Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service.
• Support events and functions alongside school life.
