Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior SCADA Engineer to join our HVDC team in a hybrid role combining site and office work. You will design a secure SCADA/HMI network architecture for AC Substations and HVDC projects, and lead discussions with customers and suppliers while coordinating site activities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Control/Communication Engineering and proven SCADA/HMI experience using Micro SCADA and Zenon, with a good understanding of UK grid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Control, or Communication Engineering.
• Proven experience with SCADA/HMI development using Micro SCADA and Zenon SCADA software.
• Hands-on experience with Micro SCADA and Substation Automation products.
• Understanding of UK electricity industry standards (National Grid, SSE/SPEN, DNO) and type registration/product approval.
• Excellent design capability in control systems engineering.
• Knowledge of MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850/60870 and related network equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop a secure network architecture for SCADA/HMI systems for AC Substation and HVDC projects.
• Hands-on IT infrastructure experience with routers, firewalls, switches, servers, and workstations.
• Review supplier documentation during project execution.
